Medea have been together for close to a year, as founding members Nicole Brown and Jason McCann. They began recording originals almost immediately, with jason handling the bass tracks as well as programming the drum machine. The songs kept coming, and in an effort to start performing live, began seeking other members for the project. A flyer in a local music store led them to Kelly Carlisle, a local bassist with very similar interests and influences. After jamming as a three-piece for a couple months, drummer Dylan Zambo was introduced to the group. He and Kelly had worked in several projects prior, and his musical influences were also well matched for what the band hoped would be a unique sound to the area.
Having performed live together, the band is truly beginning to take shape. New material, co-written in the studio by the entire group, fleshes out the set list. Songs originally recorded by the duo in J-dog's bedroom are being brought into the full band, and taking on new energy and direction. A recent recording (thanks be given to Aaron of Floorshow for engineering) will soon be available, featuring three songs- Broken Heart, Strange, and Burnout.
